Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using CVBurn you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. The service

• AI-generated feedback ("roast") on your CV.
• An AI-polished version of your resume.
• The ability to save and optionally share results.
• Currently free. Paid tiers may be added; free users will not be charged retroactively.

3. Accounts

• You must be 16 or older to create an account.
• Provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure.
• One account per person.
• You are responsible for activity under your account.

4. Your responsibilities

• Do not upload someone else's personal data without their consent.
• Do not upload illegal, harmful, or infringing content.
• Do not use the service to harass others.
• Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the platform or its APIs.
• Do not publicly share offensive or defamatory roasts.

5. AI-generated content disclaimer

CVBurn provides AI-generated suggestions for entertainment and self-improvement. AI feedback is not professional career advice. We do not guarantee interviews, employment outcomes, or the accuracy of any suggestion. Review AI output critically before using it for real applications.

6. Intellectual property

• You retain ownership of your original CV content.
• You grant CVBurn a limited licence to process that content to deliver the service.
• You own the polished CV you download.
• CVBurn retains all rights in the platform, prompts, design, and code.

7. Acceptable use

Permitted:

• Personal career use.
• Helping others with their CV, with their consent.
• Sharing anonymised roasts on social media.

Not permitted: bulk scraping, AI-training extraction, harassment, or any activity that overloads the service.

8. Service availability

We provide the service on a best-effort basis with no uptime guarantee. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

9. Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CVBurn is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost employment opportunities. Total liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months (currently £0 for free users). Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under English law or your mandatory consumer rights.

10. Termination

• You may delete your account at any time from the app or by emailing support@cvburn.com.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after that date means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer law in your country of residence grants you the right to your local courts.
